“G-Fresh”, 20 years old, was born Greg A. Tecoz in Switzerland and raised in Marietta, Georgia. He got his name “G-Fresh” in high school by staying “Fresh to Death” everyday popping tags, rocking the latest trends at the time. G-Fresh came from a decent family, but after the divorce of his parents times got really hard and the only way he knew how to cope with the stress of it all was to turn to music. Realizing his passion for music at 14, G-Fresh became influenced by rap group 3-6 Mafia and began making beats using Hip Hop EJ and rapping as a hobby. He formed a local rap group with one of his best friends and brother called Str8 Drop and began rapping over his beats. He was discovered by his manager Marques Mack and they landed a home at an independent record label Quick Flip Records as a producer. G-Fresh had a successful stint with Quick Flip Records home of local Atlanta recording artist Maceo. Producing Maceo’s debut album “Straight Out Da Pot”, the album went on to sell more than 35,000 copies (Soundscan) independently. From there, G-Fresh caught the attention of Jason Geter, President of Grand Hustle Entertainment, and has been producing beats for artists locally at Echo Studios. Able to expand on his craft and relationships, G-Fresh launched his own music label Mystic Mindz Entertainment. G-Fresh production ranges from Hip Hop to Pop to Rock & Roll. At the tender age of 20, G-Fresh has already collaborated with several well known Hip Hop artists such as Gucci Mane, Maceo, Shawty Lo, B.O.B., Yung L.A., J-Money, Shop Boyz, Young Ralph and Travis Porter. His brand is placing him in different genres working with more Pop and Rock & Roll artists. With youth on his side, G-Fresh is definitely in a position to make an impact in the music scene. After performing at various clubs,G-Fresh became very popular in the underground music scene as an entertainer. From records written and produced with his group, Str8 Drop, G-Fresh became noticed from his songwriting ability, and started receiving recognition as a solo artist. His solo single “Nice Day” has been blazing the underground circuit. His ability to captivate the audience is undeniable. He will definitely leave you requesting to hear more of what he has to say. Even though compared by many with the likes of Kid Rock, G-Fresh is in a lane of his own because of his creativity as a producer, songwriter, and entertainer. It just comes natural. Ask G-Fresh and he will tell you, “My sound is different and unique and honestly nobody is rocking like “G-Fresh” right now. I make good music period. I embody what confidence is all about, plus my range is infinite as I am able to speak to the soul of every human life walking the globe. Ha!” G-Fresh vision is to be a “made man” in the industry. He is not looking for hand-outs. He is in this full time and he is definitely paying his dues. Tattoos of music notes from his elbows to his finger tips, reminds him everyday that he was born to do this. Written by Shanon-Michael Hudson aka S.Dot
