Compiled in conjunction with Vibe magazine, this nothing-but-the-hits set pretty much settles into formula. It does adhere itself to a single urban pop format, so the shifts aren't as jarring as the ones found on, say, the Totally Hits compilations (where Matchbox Twenty, Pink, and John Michael Montgomery all share space). But it also sticks pretty close to home, offering tracks mostly from its label home. The best cuts — Next's "Wifey," Donell Jones' "U Know What's Up," Deborah Cox's "We Can't Be Friends" — aren't quite A-list material, and the album's best song, TLC's "Unpretty," is a hollow remix that doesn't do justice to its subtle beauty.
